Announcing New Orchestra Manager

David Bullman croppedDavid Bullman is a newly-retired veteran of the U.S. Army Music Program where he served as both a clarinetist and an administrator in a variety of locations in the United States and Europe for the last 27 years. Most recently, he held the position of Tour Director with the U.S. Army Field Band where he was responsible for overseeing the staff responsible for all aspects of tour planning, educational outreach, and print, digital, and video products required to support the Field Band’s tour performances.

In his free time, David is an avid reader and also enjoys video games, movies, and automotive hobbies. His current musical pursuits include performing as a clarinetist with the University of Maryland, Baltimore County Wind Ensemble and as a snare drummer with the Baltimore City Pipe Band.

David is a graduate of the University of New Orleans’ Certified Performing Arts Executive Program.

Video & Photography Fellow Joins the NRO

Jared Farley croppedJared Farley is a Strategic Communication and Film Studies student at Western State Colorado University.  Jared has been passionately pursuing filmmaking and photography for three years, focusing mainly on outdoor sports and short narrative films.  He is also on WSCU’s freeride ski team and enjoys many other outdoor pursuits.  When he’s not outside with his camera, he enjoys playing piano, writing, and studying astronomy.

Stage Manager Selected for NRO 2018 Season

Meredith Russell photo croppedMeredith Russell is a Stage Manager and Event Coordinator based out of the Cincinnati Area. Having just recently graduated with her Bachelors from Northern Kentucky University, she is finishing up her contract with Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park as a Stage Management Intern, with hopes of a long career in the stage management circle. 

From a mostly theatrical background, Meredith is beyond thrilled to be contracted as the Stage Manager for the NRO, and can’t wait to see what new things she can learn and absorb from the orchestra world. 

Announcing the NRO 2018 Library Fellow

Larissa Powers Photo croppedA native of Brazil, Larissa Powers is a librarian and violist based in Louisiana. As an orchestral musician, Larissa has performed with several orchestras in the Gulf Coast area, such as the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, Pensacola Symphony Orchestra, and Atlanta Pops Orchestra. She has also performed with the Hollywood Concert Orchestra in their China tour in 2013 and 2014.

Currently, Larissa has been working in the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra Music Library, under the guidance of Lyle Wong. She has also served as Assistant Music Librarian for the Valdosta Symphony Orchestra in Georgia. Mrs. Powers received her Master of Music in Viola Performance from the University of Georgia and currently resides in New Orleans with her husband Jacob and their dog Kika.

NRO Announces ’18 Marketing Fellow

Kate Allison photo croppedHailing from the suburbs of Chicago, the NRO is delighted to welcome Katharine Allison to Breckenridge, Colorado. This past summer and fall, she worked in the marketing department at YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park, Colorado, and Snow Mountain Ranch in Granby, Colorado. For the winter season, she made her way to Crested Butte, Colorado to join the marketing team at the Adaptive Sports Center. She found her passion working for non-profits during her time at Penn State when she served as an operations lieutenant for the largest student-run philanthropy in the world, the Penn State Dance Marathon, also known as THON™.  Katharine is ecstatic to join our team and looks forward to, “transitioning to a place where the beauty of song and tradition take precedent.”

When she’s not busy writing or shooting video, you can find her exploring the outdoors, playing piano, or hanging out in mountain town coffee shops.
