Nancy is a retired professor from the University of Colorado at Denver where she taught in the master’s and doctoral programs in the School of Education for 20 years. She founded and served as Executive Director of a research and development center to provide training to teachers and paraprofessionals working with children who have special educational needs.
Over the years, Nancy has written more than 50 publications and served in many capacities in various professional educational organizations. She recently completed a three year project on a task force to develop paraprofessional training standards and employment criteria for the International Council for Exceptional Children which are being adopted by schools worldwide.
Retirement afforded Nancy the opportunity to live in Summit County full time with her husband Tom and to revisit her lifelong interest in classical music. She has long attended NRO concerts and in the last two years became involved in the Community Link program. Last summer she coordinated the care and feeding of the musicians with weekly dinners at St. John’s Church.
