Ron Cohen Mann enjoys a varied career as a frequent recitalist, chamber musician, and orchestral freelancer based out of Toronto, Canada. He is a recent graduate of the Yale School of Music, where he received his Artist Diploma. He completed his Master of Music at Mannes School of Music, and his Bachelor of Music at the University of British Columbia, where he was awarded the UBC Medal in Music. His primary teachers include Stephen Taylor, Sherry Sylar, Beth Orson, and Sarah Jeffrey.
Ron was a prizewinner at the Orchestre Symphonique de Montreal Manulife Competition 2014, and the winner of the Yamaha Young Performing Artists Competition 2013 and Ben Steinberg Musical Legacy Award 2015. Additionally, he was a semi-finalist in the Houston Symphony Ima Hogg Competition 2016. He has performed in recitals in Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal, New York, and New Haven, and toured in an orchestral and chamber capacity to India, China, Russia, Estonia, Latvia, Portugal, and throughout Canada and the United States.
In addition to performing, Ron is a sought-after teacher and has held positions as an Oboe Instructor at Yale College and as a Teaching Artist at the Yale Music in Schools Initiative. His students have been recognized through achieving top awards in local competitions and being accepted to regional honors ensembles and reputable precollege programs.
