changing the lives of young musicians

Education Programs

The National Repertory Orchestra is passionate about fostering artistic growth and enabling aspiring musicians to access music education. With music as the lens, the NRO focuses on the connections between us and our world through meaningful and collaborative programs. The NRO organizes workshops, masterclasses, and school programs to educate local students about classical music, orchestral instruments, and the importance of music education.

Summit County Music Lesson Scholarships

NRO Arts Scholarship

Each year the NRO grants a scholarship to graduating seniors of Summit High School who are planning to pursue a degree in the field of Arts or Arts Administration. Fields of study may include, but are not limited to, music, dance, theater, film, visual and/or multimedia arts. Primary emphasis is placed on career goals with a focus on students from low socio-economic backgrounds who may also be experiencing other forms of educational disadvantage which make it difficult to achieve their educational goals. Community service and GPA are also considered.

Get Involved with the NRO

Through the NRO’s Community Link program, volunteers offer their talents and time in a myriad of ways like assisting guests at rehearsals and concerts, creating, and serving home-cooked weekly dinners, preparing off-site housing, and acting as hosts/guides to our summer staff and musician fellows.
