The 2017 summer festival dates are June 10 – July 28. In the mean time, the NRO always has several special events and concerts throughout the year. You can see them all on our calendar.
The National Repertory Orchestra is one of the most unique and diverse music festivals in the country. The performances are spectacular and the experience is memorable. The musicians are auditioned from all over the country and most of the musicians on stage are seeking future careers as orchestral musicians. If one thing is certain, the orchestra is fantastic and the concert offerings are diverse. Please browse the NRO offerings below and we can’t wait to see you at our next event!
The National Repertory Orchestra is an 88-piece orchestra that performs roughly two full orchestral concerts per week during it’s 8-weeks residency. As part of the NRO’s mission most of the concerts performed are of a traditional classical nature often with new and interesting works complementing the programs. Many of these concerts feature Music Director Carl Topilow, several incredible guest conductors, and NRO musicians as virtuoso soloists.
The National Repertory Orchestra also performs popular music concerts, including the famous Topilow Pops! and July 4th celebrations. They typically range from the music of Hollywood and Broadway, to grand Americana, to modern radio hits! Be sure to get your tickets early as these concerts often sell out!
Chamber Music Concerts
Beyond the full 88-piece orchestral concerts the NRO also offers several half orchestra concerts. These chamber concerts feature half of the normal 88-piece ensemble in traditional classical works. Each performance is similar to chamber music and creates an intimate feel between the musicians and the audience. These concerts regularly feature NRO soloists.
