As of Wednesday, June 27, the fire danger in Summit County went from “HIGH” to “VERY HIGH.” As a result, Town of Breckenridge staff, along with police and fire department staff, reviewed plans and upcoming weather forecast and determined that due to the fire danger and for the safety of participants, volunteers, and guests the 4th of July firework show will not take place this year. The Local Energy Release Component, as of June 27, is near 66, putting Summit County in around the 94th percentile. Summit County has been put on a Red Flag advisory for Thursday, June 28.
